What a horrifying year it’s been. A terrifying morass of pustulence, seeping dark red ooze over our collective psyche. A cold dark corridor reeking of damp air and flesh stripped bones shackled to its weeping walls. A hulking beast with matted hair caked with dirt and dried blood, standing over your screaming body with a club mid air.
It is legitimately a plague year.
So for Halloween, I’m seeking solace in the escape from actual terror. Like by watching Cannibal Holocaust. Gimme dirty Italian gore. Gimme the living dead, haunting the jungle, fighting sharks, stabbing people in the eyeballs. Gimme lonely cabins, full of evil, possessed trees, demons in the basement. Gimme savage killers plunging axes, driving knives, slicing throats.
Gimme all of that, all of that over the real horror out there, of a collective global mind shutter at the wretched failures of our very necessary humanity.
Like what I’m doing here? Let me know by suggesting it to someone else that may like it. Not into this song? Stick around for the next one, it may be what you didn’t know you needed! Remember, there are only two genres of music here at SERMONS!: good and bad, and I have too much to do to waste time on bad music.
