George Clinton’s birthday was Wednesday, but I was on a Didjits rip that day, so I acknowledged it to myself and bookmarked it in my sloppy quarantine brain to get back to for Friday’s newsletter.
I love George Clinton.
If I got into it, this would be a long rambling ode to one of America’s greatest freaks.
So instead, just listen to what is (MY OPINION) the greatest song added to the reissue of Parliament’s greatest album and reflect on the US of A in 2020 being being not much different than 1970 except for that we have nifty technology that allows us to stay even more glued to horror show, and now even more people are tired and upset and down down down because of it all. This is a salve, thank you George and furry freak friends, to get us through all of this shit that in the end means squat as we’re all gonna eventually return to the space dust from whence we came.
Also, listen to Bernie Worrell’s strange tinkling toy box melody. Creepy and very psychedelic.
