Hello internet pals of music. Today we’re just glad it’s summer in the North.
I probably get 40% of the sun I used to get three years ago, when this ambitious e-affair first started back in the Lone Star State.
And since summer in Texas can also magically, briefly appear in winter, or fall or spring—I only really started understanding summer as a feeling other than not being in school until I started getting to spend summers north of the 49th parallel, nestled betwixt the ocean and the mountains. It’s interesting living somewhere with pronounced seasons. And by interesting I mean it’s pressing, as in How is it already July 5th? TIME’ S RUNNING OUT…
SERMONS! is reader-supported. If you’re wishing to support my work, I encourage you to become a subscriber. Otherwise, we’ll both probably forget about this thing.
Usually its never officially summer here until I hear Len’s Steal My Sunshine randomly out of a passing car, that’s my solstice. Last year’s Len solstice happened in an Uber, driving through downtown on the way home from a sunset at the beach. I haven’t had a Len moment yet this summer.
But, the sun is out and this song feels like summer. If I’m not working, maybe I should be outside. Hahahahahaha, whatever, I have too much shit to do.
