Hello internet pals of music. Today’s selection is an early reggae classic, perfectly suited for these weird times.
Every day, things are getting worse
Things have always been hard, let’s not kid ourselves. If we can take a moment to peel back from the doom-noise assaulting us from our phones, maybe we can find relief in this strangely uplifting acknowledgement that it doesn’t get better, because there’s always something around the bend.
And maybe by recognizing the curves ahead, we can relax our grip on the wheel enough to savor the tiny things, like the beauty a trio of voices can sound in harmony or the levity of keyboard line that sounds straight lifted from an 80s Saturday morning cartoon.

Time is hard, though. The ground underneath feels so unstable, like we’re in a slow rolling earthquake. What stands today, may not tomorrow. We’ve seen the futures we may have imagined stretch beyond our reaches. We may have wanted utopia, but instead we’ve got these weird cartoon-billionaires laughing as they spend the money we give them to fly five minutes into sub-space. We have dysfunctional institutions that burden us with the fallout their power games produce.
We are all fucked, but we always have been. Life is hard, grinding stuff. But know that we will all get our reward. And the reward will be much greater for the sufferers.
There are always good things if you can remember to look out for them.
