I’m busy this next few weeks, so because time stops for no man, the following is going to be brief:
Watched the Beyoncé film Homecoming last night. I’m not a fan of her music, but she works hard as hell, and she reps Houston hard as hell. So, respect to her. But the world is so small: In a sustained crowd shot, I saw my cousin’s husband, whom I’ve never met except in photos on Facebook. Then I saw my cousin, whom I’ve also never met but I began speaking with several years ago when my father had a heart attack.
Seeing him, his husband, and listening to Beyoncé mention Prairie View A&M, while sitting in a condo a few blocks from the high school she temporarily attended really shrunk my world scope for a moment.
This has nothing to do with this song; I’ve had this one locked away for a few weeks now.
Like what I’m doing here? Let me know by suggesting it to someone else that may like it. Not into this song? Stick around for the next one, it may be what you didn’t know you needed! Remember, there are only two genres of music here at SERMONS!: good and bad, and I have too much to do to waste time on bad music.
Last night I dreamed Beyoncé and I were friends. 👩🏼🤝👩🏾
