Hello internet pals of music. Today we’re chugging coffee & mutating with yet another cool bunch of Swedes.
The only thing the internet hasn’t sucked all the fun out of is finding music. Every new platform meant to bring us and our overdeveloped brains together, is really a battery-suck on our capacity to withstand the slow crushing grind of capitalism’s heel. I can barely even muster the psychic energy to type these little letters that done make words.
SERMONS! is reader-supported. If you’re wishing to support my work, I encourage you to become a subscriber. Otherwise, we’ll both probably forget about this thing.
And then, I have to post these songs in this little window box, linked from another little window box that some other group of people are making too much money from, because nothing, nothing, is ever free. And I have to do that because I now can’t afford to just buy every single record that sounds good.
And then there’s the environmental costs. Like, either way, this distribution of recorded information has a stupid, fat, footprint—either in the amount of fossil fuels involved to produce and ship these goofy little discs all over the world or in the giant server farms needed to run this digital hellworld we chained ourselves to.
You know what’s cool? Listening to the breeze dance through the leaves on a crisp, sunny morning.
