Roger Rodier - Am I Supposed to Let It By Again (Above the Covers)
I’m in the quiet hours, when the drip drip drips of the most recent rain plink down from the over-stuffed eavestrough, and the heater rattles a strange rhythm like an insect trapped under an overturned cup.
A stitched portrait of Freddy Fender looks back at me from the wall. A silk screen poster advertising a Roky Erickson show is tacked to its left. Below that, small framed postcard illustrations of a few truly Houston monuments: The Astrodome, West Alabama Icehouse, and Buc-ee’s, the world’s greatest gas station.
So quiet. So calm. So secure.
Until the neighbour fires up the saw.
Continuing the theme of lost Canadian psych oddities, here’s Roger Rodier from Montreal.
Just you wait until the chorus first kicks down. Heavy.

Not into this song? Stick around for the next one, it may be what you didn’t know you needed! Remember, there are only two genres of music here at SERMONS!: good and bad, and I have too much to do to waste time on bad music.
