In 2011, I told anyone who’d listen that I was never spending another summer in Texas.
I’ve been back here for three now. Texas summer’s aren’t fun, they’re hardly bearable although I can’t tell if they’re any worse now than they were before my grand proclamation. This year I’m allowing myself to wear shorts more, something I used to deem a sartorial faux pas. Regardless, it’s still a miserable time to be here.
I can’t imagine Martin Newell, “The Greatest Living Englishman” wearing shorts. Or spending summers in Texas. Observant readers / listeners may notice this is the second Martin Newell song to feature on SERMONS!. You can read that here as well as you can bet your bottom bitcoin he’ll pop up again.
Death to summer, long live pants.
Tell me (and the whole wide world) how much you love Martin Newell
